This page is work in progress preparing our bike trip to Iceland in summer 2019.
The intent is to work out a plan on
- Which places to stay over night
- What places to visit
- How long to stay in each place
- What kind of accomodation to book (Hotel/City or hut/country side)
- What activities to plan for (Blue Lagoon, boat trips)
- Prices
So in the end, there should be exact dates to book flights for, pre-booked accommodation (or a decision not to pre-book), bookings for the motorbikes, a suggested route with stops and activities.
Where other Tours Go
Green: 7 day round trip – Red: 3 day cross country (not allowed with rental bikes) – Yellow: 1 day Golden Circle – Blue – 5 day Diamond Circle (incl. hiking)
Getting Around
Driving should be easy, but rental bikes are not allowed on F-Roads, i.e. into the mountains with river crossings etc.
I have an inquiry open for a guided 7 day tour with 2 days cross country on F-Roads. Prices will be available in October.
As an alternative, I suggest staying an extra night in the east and driving west along the red line, as far as we like/get.

Lunch in Vik – there are some sights to see.
Further east on highway 1 along the Vatnajokull glacier and stay the night in Hofn
